Counseling Center
About Us
How can we build a better community, where people can heal from their traumas, thrive in their relationships, experience the freedom of emotional safety, and live without fear of harm or abuse? This question led us down a winding path that took years to travel, finally bringing us to Crosswind Counseling Center.

Crosswind Counseling Center embodies the strength that comes with each step we take in life, wherever the path leads us. As humans, we are guaranteed to encounter challenges and detours along our paths - our goal is to learn to adapt to those challenges and detours, rather than maintain the status quo (which often leaves us feeling stuck). We also aim to help clients break through generational patterns of trauma and maladaptive behaviors, to help carve a new path for themselves. Our dedicated team is here to support you on your journey through life's transitions, providing personalized guidance and empowering you to cultivate inner strength. Together, we will work towards finding direction and achieving a balanced, fulfilling life.
Meet The Team
Jessica Bouchard, M.A., LPCC
she/her
Clinical & Treatment Director
Co-Founder
As a strengths-based therapist, I strive to help clients find and employ their natural strengths and use their successes to guide them on their therapeutic journey. The therapeutic relationship and process is a powerful tool in helping individuals reframe issues and find new ways of being that bring peace, happiness, and new perspectives.
I have devoted my work to providing treatment, therapy, and evaluations to guide treatment planning for adults and adolescents. Additionally, I am an ally for and provide therapeutic services to individuals who identify with the LGBTQ+ community.
My approach to therapy is affirming and non-judgmental, providing space to process through and explore past hurt and trauma, ineffective patterns of behavior, and explore new perspectives. I am trained in ART and have found this to be a powerful tool in helping clients work through traumatic experiences.

Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, True North Psychiatry
Finding your True North doesn’t need to be difficult or painful. It can be comfortable, natural, and done at a pace that works for you. You can smile, shed a tear or two, and maybe even enjoy the conversation. My ultimate goal is for you to walk away from our visit by thinking “Hey! That wasn’t so bad!”

Together we will identify the symptoms that caused you to lose your fixed point in this spinning world, and create a treatment plan that is based on your most deeply held beliefs, values, and the principles you live by. I will celebrate with you when your internal compass — unique to you — returns to represent who you are at your deepest level!
True North Psychiatry is based out of Duluth, Minnesota, but with the benefits of tele-health, I am licensed to help anyone in Wisconsin and Minnesota from the comfort of their home (or any other setting of their choosing).

I have a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and a Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificate from the College of St. Scholastica. Using the alphabet as a guide, these degrees make me a DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC. Say that 10 times fast!
In order to reach even more patients in the Northland, I work with Crosswind Counseling Center in Duluth to provide Psychiatric Medication Management. Together, we ensure that our patients are receiving the greatest benefit and best possible outcomes from their medications.
I live in the Northland with my husband, our three kids, three dogs, and two cats! We enjoy spending time in nature and being on the lake together. A little secret of mine is I’m obsessed with gnomes and have a weakness for peanut butter M&Ms, cake pops, and comfort food!

I am deeply passionate about psychiatry and am dedicated to helping you find your True North and get back on the path you always dreamed of!
