CAREERS
Crosswind Counseling Center is looking to connect with talented, mission-driven clinicians who want to do meaningful work in a setting built around clinical excellence, autonomy, and genuine support. If you're a licensed mental health or substance use professional looking for a practice that values trauma-informed, person-centered care — we want to hear from you.

Who We're Looking For
We're always interested in connecting with:
-
Licensed mental health professionals (LPCC, LICSW, LMFT, or equivalent)
-
Licensed alcohol and drug counselors (LADC)
-
Clinicians with experience or strong interest in trauma-informed care, co-occurring disorders, justice-involved populations, or gender-affirming practice
-
Clinicians who value collaborative, client-centered work over rigid, one-size-fits-all models
Don't see an exact fit listed? We still want to hear from you.
Why You'll Love Working at Crosswind:
Frequently Asked Questions

Is clinical supervision available toward licensure?
Yes. Our Clinical & Treatment Director holds an approved LPCC Supervisor credential, and we support clinicians working toward full licensure as part of our team.
Do I need my own malpractice insurance?
Yes, contractors are responsible for carrying their own professional liability insurance.
How is compensation structured?
We value wage transparency. Our therapists are all paid equally based on credentials and experience.
Can I set my own schedule and caseload size?
Yes. As an independent contractor, you determine your own hours and how full a caseload you'd like to carry, whether that's a few clients a week or a full-time practice.
What administrative support is provided?
Crosswind handles office space, scheduling infrastructure, and practice administration so you can focus on clinical work. Billing? Off your plate. Calls to insurance? Not your problem. We handle everything needed behind the scenes, so you can focus on direct client care.

Do you support clinicians with specialty interests (trauma-informed care, co-occurring disorders, justice-involved populations, gender-affirming care)?
Yes — these are core areas of our practice. You'll have access to consultation, in-house clinical curricula, and a team with direct experience in these specialties.
What does the office space look like?
Our office is located at 130 W. Superior Street, Suite 760, in downtown Duluth — a professional, welcoming space for both clinicians and clients.

Do you accept insurance, and how does that affect contractors?
Because our therapists are independent contractors, they choose whether to accept insurance or not. We hold contracts with all major insurers in case our therapists want to join the network.
